16 March 2023 - The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have brought laurels to the University by winning nine medals in athletics and overall runners’ up trophy in team games (women category) during the XXIst All India Inter Agricultural University Sports and Games Meet, held at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar from February 20-24. The students clinched four Gold medals (400 m in men section; and 100 m, 200 m and Long Jump in women section) and five Silver medals (100 m, 200 m in Men Section and 800 m, 1500 m and 5000 in Women Section). In addition, the students bagged the Gold Medal in Table Tennis (Women).

The PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal congratulated the students for their stupendous achievements and exhorted them to keep it up.

Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, while welcoming the students on their arrival at Ludhiana, congratulated them for winning positions and attributed their success to their hard work and untiring efforts. He also encouraged the students, who could not win positions, by stating that participation was more important than winning. As many as 33 students (21 men and 12 women students), accompanied by three officials Dr Sukhbir Singh, AD (PE); Dr Paramvir Singh, AD (PE) and Sardar Gurteg Singh, Hockey Coach, took an active part in the meet, he informed.
